Proper Hydration and Proper Adrenal Gland Function are so important, especially in today's world.  A recent study showed that 70-80% of Americans are suffering from some type of adrenal fatigue.  I think it's safe to blame that on our fast paced, highly distracted society.  75% of Americans are dehydrated.  Water itself regulates the water content inside our cells. Water delivers nutrients to the cells and helps remove toxins and metabolic wastes from the cells.  However, today we are drinking filtered water that is stripped of minerals, or tap water that is full of chemical toxins.  

A combination of water and salt regulate the water content of the body.

Drinking water will temporarily treat the symptoms of dehydration, but the balance of salt intake is what makes the real difference in health and hydration.

I love pumpkin and I love Cheesecake.  I love the coziness that winter spices bring.  But I don't love the way it makes me feel.  So I created a real food Pumpkin "cheesecake", without the dairy, gluten, grains or sugar! This is one of my favorites.  It can be eaten for breakfast or as dessert.  An easy healthy holiday treat!  


2 Cans of full fat coconut milk

2 cups shredded coconut

1 cup Pumpkin Puree

1/2 Avocado

6T Grass Fed Butter

1T Gelatin (Great Lakes Brand is the one I use)

1t Cinnamon (I use doTERRA essential oil cinnamon)

2t vanilla extract

8-10 drops of liquid stevia or 1/4 cup honey

2T cacao nibs


1. Place 1 can of coconut milk, sweetener of choice and gelatin.  Stir over medium-low heat for 5min or until gelatin is dissolved.

2. Place 1 can of coconut milk, avocado, butter, shredded coconut, pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla into a blender.  Blend until mixed.

Are you looking for a cookie that stabilizes blood sugar, helps repair muscle tissue and increases your ability to burn fat?  And is delicious!  


  • 2 cups organic almond meal

  • 3 tbsp. grass-fed Bulletproof Ghee or butter 

  • 3 tbsp. Collagen Protein (Bulletproof, Vital Proteins, or Ancient Nutrition Brand)

  • 2-4 TBSP Stevia or birch tree-sourced xylitol to taste

  • 2 tsp. vanilla

  • 1 pastured egg

  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder

  • 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar

  • A pinch of salt

  • 1/3 cup 85% or higher dark chocolate bar, chopped


  1. Preheat the oven to 340°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. Add the almond meal, collagen protein, salt and baking powder into a bowl.

  3. Pour the apple cider vinegar directly on top of the baking powder and allow it to react (it will go fizzy).

  4. Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl and stir to combine evenly.

You may have noticed that essential oils are all the rage right now.. You see them popping up in day spas, DIY projects, medicine cabinets, etc.

People claim that these oils help with everything from stomach aches, depressions, migraines, anxiety, and even cancer.

I never really took the time to use them in my practice and kind of wrote them off for awhile.  Until I started seeing all this research and studies backing up the science behind them.  I've quickly learned that they can be an extremely powerful tool.  I have began implementing them into my own life as well as the lives of my clients and have seen and experienced such amazing results.

I have quickly learned that scents can bring back memories and help you work through emotions and feelings that we store deep within our bodies.

Each essential oil has an emotion tied to it.

Why do we feel so much better when we spend time in nature?

Our bodies need air, sunlight, water, and nutrients from the earth.  One lost component that is we need to begin implementing is Earthing.  

Have you ever taken a barefoot walk on the beach or in the soil of your garden? Or maybe just running barefoot with your kids through the grass at the park?

How did you feel afterwards?  If you remember, you probably felt recharged, grounded, and energized! 

What is Earthing?  It is absorbing electrons from the earth through your skin.  The earth has a supply of ‘free’ electrons that change the electrical charge of your body if you make contact for long enough.  

Our ancesters didn't have to 'consciously' earth, since they walked around barefoot or in leather strapped sandals all day.  Our modern day footwear is slowly disconnecting us from the earth as well as causing a number of alignment and health issues. For those of you that have followed me on Social media, and have seen my journey, posts, and  fitness accomplishments over the years..   I have never shared my full story.  It hasn't been easy, it hasn't all been success.  I have gone through so many different avenues with nutrition regimes, nutrient deficiencies, adrenal fatigue, orthorexia, and not loving myself.

I was always aware that I wanted to take care of my body.  I grew up as an "athlete" playing every sport I could between the ages of 6 and 16. I went down a destructive path my senior year in high school and spent the next few years working 40 hours a week, struggling through college, living off of fast food, and binge drinking on the weekends.  At the age of 21 I set out on my quest to reverse the many years of abuse I had subjected my body to.

Avocados are nature's butter.

It's a creamy, delicious superfood that’s simply too good for you to skip. The combination of healthy fats and nutrients found in avocados are oleic acid, lutein, folate, vitamin E, monounsaturated fats and glutathione. They can help protect your body from heart disease, cancer, degenerative eye and brain diseases. Avocados also taste amazing and are easily integrated into any meal or smoothie.

You can add half an avocado to smoothies to add creamy texture and a powerful nutritional boost, or enjoy an avocado half as a nutritious “side” to your morning omelet instead of potatoes or toast.

Here are a few simple recipes for avocados:

Avocado Brownies

Combine 1/2cup unsweetened organic applesauce, 1/2 cup organic real maple syrup or raw honey, 3 pasture raised eggs, 1 large avocado into a blender.  Blend until smooth

With Summer here, many people are firing up the grill!

If you are avoiding gluten/bread and don't want to wrap your burger in lettuce.. Try these amazing sweet potato buns instead!

2 TBSP coconut flour

2 1/2 tsp gelatin (great lakes version can get at Natural Grocers/Whole foods/ or order online)

2 eggs room temp

1/3 cup mashed sweet pots at room temp

1/4 tsp salt

2 tbsp. ghee or butter room temp

Preheat oven to 400, mix gelatin, coconut flour and salt in a bowl.  In another bowl combine butter and sweet potatoes, mix well, then add in eggs to the butter and sweet potato mix.  Combine dry and wet ingredients together.

Spoon onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Make into flatbread sized rounds, about 1/4" thick.

“Gluten free” is basically a phrase that everyone throws around at some point.  If you are avoiding it, do you really know why?

Gut Inflammation

Inflammation is the natural response of your immune system to injury. You can see it in action whenever you get a cut or splinter and the surrounding area gets all red and tender. The proteins in wheat are gut irritants: they’re like that papercut or splinter digging into the lining of your gut, causing an inflammatory response.
